“Spiders tailor their webs to their taste”, Scimex, March 17, 2015

An international study, that includes Australians, has found that spiders will tailor their web to catch certain prey, depending on the types of nutrients they need. The study found that spiders used smaller and sticker webs to capture prey with less protein and more fat, and used larger webs to capture prey with higher amounts of protein and lower carbohydrates.
